Miss Saigon (School’s Edition)

Live LX were once again asked to supply full technical back up for John Cleveland Collage’s annual production.

This year the production team of Leanne Wesley and Peter Morrit were producing the West End hit “Miss Saigon”.  This is a very complex musical which is set in may different places. These range from a seedy bar in Saigon to the streets of Bangkok!

Live LX designed, supplied and built all of the scenery keeping well with in the brief of minimal scene changes! All of the other challenges that come with school productions like lack of wing space and height were all dealt with to create what the directors wanted!

The lighting was designed by Pete Watts and all of the equipment was supplied and rigged by Live LX.

The venue has no equipment or lighting bars of its own so all rigging points were also created by the team installing the lights. There is also very little power available so a lot of thought had to go in to the selection of lighting fixtures used and at what point in the show they would be on.

The Show was programmed on an Avolites Tiger Touch. This was the first time Pete had used that desk for a theatre style show and it went rather smoothly. Because of the style of the show it had to be programmed on site which created very tight deadlines to work to!
