Over the past few years the scale of the school musical has grown with far better presentation being expected by pupils and the watching parents. The technical side of live theatre is often an area that gets forgotten until the day before and can be a headache for drama teachers or other school staff. The lighting gets passed on to an over worked physics teacher because they know about electricity and the set on to an equally overstretched art department.

Live LX can help take the stress out of the technical production side of any type of show whether it be a musical production of Joseph or the annual battle of the bands night.

There are three main ways that we could help. Firstly, we can come to your venue assess the equipment you have, help you set it up and get the best out of it, program the lighting for the show and then train a student or member of staff to run it. This option works well if you have a drama space or stage with some equipment but have little knowledge of how it all works.

The second option is similar to the first in that we can visit to discuss the options and provide a design service etc., but we would supply the lighting rig from our hire stock. This works if you have limited amounts of equipment or not sure where to start with a hire catalogue in front of you!

The final option is that we work with you from the start and take all the technical aspects off your hands. We can design and build sets to suit your ideas and supply lighting design and all equipment. Our crew can operate the show every night and even work with students helping him or her to understand more about theatre work.

This is the best option if you are putting on a large scale musical but don’t have the time or resources to do the show justice!
